About Us:
About Rotary:
Rotary is an organization created for the purpose of bringing together different professions and to
provide charity service all over the world. Rotary started in Chicago on February 23, 1905. It was
founded by a man named Paul S. Harris, and the meetings were rotated around the different offices
of the club's members (hence the name Rotary). The concept of the organization quickly spread, and
by 1921 there were Rotary clubs on six continents. Now there are over 32,000 Rotary clubs in more
than 200 countries,and over 1.2 million members.
About Interact:
Interact is a branch of rotary for teenagers ages 14 to 18, and clubs run under the direction of a
parent Rotary district. Interact is designed to get young adults interested in helping their community,
country, and even the world. Each Interact club must complete at least two community service projects
a year, each of these organized to help build international understanding and goodwill.
About Bastrop:
The Bastrop High School in Bastrop, Texas started it's Interact club in 2006, and has increased
interest over the last year. Our current group, lead by Mr. Edward Willis, is about thirty strong.
